A new study links older fathers to their children developing a mental illness in their life.
FOX's Colleen Cappon reports in today's "Housecall for Health":
Doctors have known for decades that when older women have babies, it increases the risk of some illnesses in their children.
But a new study from Australia says having an older dad can also put kids at risk. Research published in the journal "Translational Psychiatry" suggests that children of older fathers are more susceptible to schizophrenia and autism because dads pass on genetic mutations that have developed as they age. Doctors say it's far too early to make public recommendations.
