Pregnant women who pack on the pounds could be hurting their unborn child.

A new study from the University of Antwerp found that exposing eggs to high levels of saturated fatty acids can harm the development of the embryo.  The fats are most commonly found in the ovaries of obese women and those with diabetes.  The findings support recommendations that women achieve a healthy weight before getting pregnant.
