Tens of thousands of Verizon workers are on strike, walking off the job over the weekend after contract talks with the company broke down.

...and Mike Nixon, a cable splicer who was picketing outside the Verizon Headquarters in NY had this to say:

The striking employees work on the company's infrastructure and install the "Fios" cable service.  The strike will not disrupt Verizon's wireless service because that branch of the company is non-union.
