Tens of thousands of Verizon workers are on strike, walking off the job over the weekend after contract talks with the company broke down.

The striking employees work on the company's infrastructure and install the "Fios" cable service. The strike will not disrupt Verizon's wireless service because that branch of the company is non-union.
