FOX IN THE FAST LANE: BRICKYARD 400

NASCAR’s Sprint Cup revs up again.  This time, the chase is heading to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Brickyard 400.  Plus, a new team heads to Hendrick Motorsports.

FOX News Radio’s Marghiee “Trackside” Teshineh has more in this week’s “FOX In The Fast Lane”:

FOR INDIANA NATIVE TONY STEWART, RACING AT THE BRICKYARD IS GREAT FOR THE HOMETOWN SUPPORT BUT…

“IT’S ALWAYS PROBABLY THE MOST INTENSE WEEKEND OF MY YEAR NEXT TO THE DAYTONA 500 WEEKEND.”

DENNY HAMLIN FEELS AT THIS POINT IN THE SEASON…THE BRICKYARD IS A MAKE OR BREAK RACE…

“FOR THE GUYS THAT ARE ON THE CUSP OF MAKING IT OR NOT MAKING IT.. THAT’S WHEN THEY’LL BE BRINGING ALL THEIR BEST STUFF TO THE RACE TRACK TO TRY AND GET INTO THE CHASE AND MAYBE GET A WIN.”

JAMIE MCMURRAY TOOK THE CHECKERED FLAG AT THE BRICKYARD LAST YEAR.  BUT GOING INTO THIS WEEK’S RACE, MCMURRAY WILL BE THE FIRST TO ADMIT…

“WE’VE HAD A REALLY BAD YEAR. IT’S BEEN VERY FRUSTRATING TO HAVE THE SUCCESS THAT WE DID LAST YEAR AND TO STRUGGLE LIKE WE HAVE SO FAR THIS YEAR. BUT AT SOME POINT THAT TURNS AROUND.”

AND WHEN KASEY KAHNE JOINS HENDRICK MOTORSPORTS NEXT YEAR REPLACING MARK MARTIN IN THE NUMBER FIVE CAR, HE’LL GET A NEW CREW CHIEF.

KENNY FRANCIS, WHO’S WORKED WITH KAHNE SINCE 2005, WILL COME ON BOARD REPLACING LANCE MCGREW.
