An opressive heat wave continues to bake a large part of the nation... and the extreme heat is causing deaths across the nation.

In cities and towns across the Eastern Seaboard and Midwest, fire hydrants are being opened up as folks seek any relief possible from the heat.  But in New York, they're being put to a new use to try to help people out...

Folks who have to get around this weekend will have to deal with temperatures in the triple digits... Bus service has been delayed in Detroit as a result of the extreme heat. ...and according to one passenger, tempers are starting to flare:

Two hundred buses out of four hundred in Detroit - are totally out of commission during the heatwave due to faulty air conditioners.

This extreme heat can be downright dangerous, and is hitting some particularly hard.
