What is worse for your waistline than soda, candy and ice cream? Scientists say it's potato chips.
Research published in the New England Journal of Medicine proves that chips are the biggest dietary offender, with a daily serving over the course of a few years adding more pounds than other junk food. On average, participants gained nearly 17 pounds over a 20-year period. Other culprits coming in close behind included alcohol, time spent watching TV and quitting smoking.
