Nothing could outrun Wednesday's main event at the home of the Kentucky Derby.

FOX News Radio's Sal Giangrasso reports:

A number of barns sustained serious damage in the storm and a number of the horses which reside at the track will have to leave the track while repairs take place.

John Asher is the Vice President of Racing Communications at Churchill Downs, and had this to say:

The famous twin spires above the clubhouse overlooking the finish line for the first leg of horse racing's Triple Crown were apparently not damaged.

This Louisville man was there, watching simulcast races from other tracks when the tornado formed, and had this to say:
