Tense words back and forth at a Senate Finance Committee hearing Thursday on oil company subsidies. Big oil companies who get billions in tax breaks made the case to keep them. Some Committee members were not so quick to agree.

In the House, a vote passes to open more of the nation's oceans for oil and gas exploration. The bill would lift a drilling moratorium put in place by the Obama Administration. The vote tally: 243 to 179.

This bill entitled Reversing President Obama's Offshore Moratorium Act is not expected to pass the Senate.
The White House argues that the proposal would undermine the current leasing process and mandate drilling leases without input from the affected states.
