... Keith Moore... the Sheriff of Mississippi County, said he felt emotional knowing how the flooding would affect citizens of his county:
Blasting a 2 mile wide hole in the Birds point levee sacrifices approximately 130,000 acres of farmland in order to stop rising floodwaters in nearby Cairo, IL, where the Mississippi meets the Ohio river.
