Shuttle Discovery: Wheels Down For The Last Time
Space Shuttle Discovery is going to need a big rocking chair! The spacecraft is going into retirement… after returning from its 39th and final mission today (Wednesday).
Discovery has traveled more than 148-million miles since its first launch back in 1984. It spent a total of 365 days in space. There are two more missions planned before the shuttle program ends.
