It's been argued that as much as 2.5 million gallons of oil were spilling out of the blown out Macondo well at the Deepwater Horizon rig site. If that's so, many are wondering where all that oil ended up - as it doesn't appear to be floating in the Gulf of Mexico or soiling coastlines.
