Chris Wallace Tells Kilmeade The Back Story Behind ‘Full Screen # 2’ From The Fox Debate
“Let me just say, the first time in history that a full screen number 2 got applause from an audience at a presidential debate.”
—-Wallace on the GOP debate audience applauding when he called for the second full screen rebuking Trump’s economic numbers
Fox News Sunday’s Chris Wallace joined Kilmeade & Friends to give a little insight into pressing Trump on his economic plan not adding up at last week’s Fox News GOP debate. Chris explained when you are talking to Trump on economics, he likes to throw around a lot of numbers and he felt the only way you could catch him is by fact checking him in real time, which lead to him using multiple full screens pointing out how Trump’s numbers didn’t add up. Chris also gave his take on last night’s Democrat/Univision debate, calling it pretty odd they had it half in English and half in Spanish. Chris was asked if he would have pressed Hillary for refusing to answer the question at last night’s debate whether she would drop out of the race if she is indicted by the FBI for using a private server.

Wallace explains what went into the Donald Trump Full Screens at last week’s GOP debate
(WALLACE) Let me just say, the first time in history that a full screen number 2 got applause from an audience at a presidential debate. My son sent me a note, America wants to know, what are in full screens #1 and # 3? Here is the deal, when you’re talking to Trump, he throws around a lot of numbers and there is a tremendous amount of planning that goes into these debates and I thought the only way you could catch him is in real time, in effect what the newspapers do the next day or blogs do hours later, is fact check him. There were bout there or four things I knew he might say like cut these departments or we could negotiate a better deal on drugs, so I had these four full screens made up and my producers said to me at one point, what if he doesn’t mention these four things? We are totally screwed, I will have to say, thank you very much Mr. Trump, that’s very interesting and move onto my next question. But as I suspected, he went back to the things he says on the trial and they don’t add up.
Wallace on if he would have pressed Hillary to answer the question if she would drop out if she is indicted.
(WALLACE) I wouldn’t have pressed it. I remember a line my father once said to me, sometimes the questions are more interesting than the answers. It’s like, you brought it up, she said that, she showed her peak and her denial and where are you going to go from there?
