Heyward: How I Went From Corrections Officer To Inmate
Tuesday on “The Alan Colmes Show,” Alan spoke with former corrections officer Gary Heyward, who has released a book called Corruption Officer about how he went from working in the notorious Rikers Island jail in New York to being an inmate in the system himself.
Heyward told Alan about how he was caught on tape selling drugs which led to his arrest, why he wants to prove everyday that his time spent in jail does not define him, and why he thinks that 25% of correction officers on the job either know about or participate in illegal activities going on inside where they patrol.
