Giuliani: To Protect America, It’s Better To Give Up Some Liberty For Safety

Rudy

Brian was joined in studio by former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who discussed the long term ramifications of Sony’s decision to pull “The Interview” from theaters because of terror threats.

Mayor Giuliani is worried that Sony pulling “The Interview” from theaters now allows anyone who is upset with a movie to dictate what people will be allowed to watch. Giuliani told Brian that corporate America has not put enough time and money to protect themselves and private companies need to use the same sophisticated equipment the military uses to defend against cyber-attacks.

When it comes to the balance between liberty and security, Giuliani and Brian agree that in order to protect the American public, people need to give up some liberty in order for more security. While Giuliani understands people’s fears of government overreach, he has more faith in our government protecting us than the alternative.
