Brian was live today, broadcasting from the Bush Center”s 4th Annual Warrior Open at the Las Colinas Golf Club.

HOUR 1

Brian had an Exclusive two part interview with President George Bush.

In part one which aired on Fox & Friends, Brian asked President Bush his take on President Obama’s performance. President Bush would not second guess President Obama’s decisions but did say he was in favor of leaving behind a residual force of about 10,000-15,000 U.S. troops in Iraq.

Pres. Bush told Brian that he regularly spoke with President Clinton while he was in office because they shared many of the same experiences as president. Pres. Bush also said that he and President Clinton now both grandparents and are the only members of the baby boomer generation to be elected president.

HOUR 2

Former former Army aviator, Cindi Basenspiler, Executive Director, Charlotte Bridge Home, which helps Charlotte veterans successfully transition home after military service opened up the second hour. Cindi explained how the Charlotte Bridge Home helps returning veterans reconnect with the community by identifying their education, employment and healthcare needs.

Iraq veteran, Marine Sgt. Kevin C. Miller, Strategic Partnership Associate, Swords to Plowshares, spoke about the not-for-profit veteran service organization that provides wrap-around care to more than 2,000 veterans in the San Francisco Bay Area each year.When asked about his thoughts on the current state of Iraq, Sgt Miler finds it tough to watch whats going on in Iraq now after all that had been accomplished before the troop pullout.

Brian was joined next by Major Brian Murphy, Director of Veteran Outreach for The Steven and Alexandra Cohen Veterans Center, located at NYU Langone Medical Center. Major Murphy told Brian that the veterans center tries to fill the gap in mental health care for service members and their families in the NYC area who are affected by all phases of deployment and other life stressors including post-traumatic stress.

Brian wrapped the second hour by talking with General Peter Pace, former United States Marine Corps general who served as the 16th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 2001-2005. General Pace told Brian that President Bush would not allow politics to enter into military decisions. When asked about his take on how we should take on ISIS, General Pace said we have an enemy that has a 100 year plan which is to annihilate us. General Pace said we have a choice, either we surrender or we fight. The longer it takes us to decide to take on the enemy directly, the longer the war will last. General Pace believes the only way to successfully defeat ISIS is with troops on the ground.

HOUR 3

Brian was joined by General Peter W. Chiarelli, retired United States Army general who served as the 32nd Vice Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army under both President Bush and President Obama. General Chiarelli opened up the interview talking about the great advances in treatment for soldiers wounded in combat since 2001.

On ISIS: General Chiarelli believes it is very important to get rid of ISIS but worries that we can not achieve our goal of defeating ISIS without boots on the ground.

On the Problems with the Iraq government, General Chiarelli told Brian that problems with their govt. wasnot being inclusive to both Shia and Sunni, adding, if ISIS didn’t have the support of the Sunni tribes in Iraq they would not have been successful.

Claudia Avilar, wife of Captain Luis Avilar, spoke with Brian about her husbands long journey recovering from his injuries and how far he has come today.

Brian’s final guest of the day was Chris Wallace, anchor of FOX News Sunday. Brian and Chris discussed President Bush’s interview, which Chris jokingly told Brian made him jealous. Chris and Brian also spoke about the Secret Service scandal and the latest news on Ebola in America.
