HOUR 1
Harvard Law Professor ALAN DERSHOWITZ and author of the new e-book Terror Tunnels: The Case For Israel’s Just War Against Hamas checked-in to talk about why Israel had to send in ground troops to take out the tunnels. He said that the tunnels were engineering marvels and if Hamas took all the funds and intelligence to build schools and hospitals they could have helped their populace get out of poverty. Alan explained that it has gotten dangerous to take the side of Israel worldwide. He said that when speaking at universities in Canada and Europe he was told to bring security for protection.
Alan told Brian that ISIS is America’s Hamas and that we need a strong coalition to defeat them. On beheading American journalists, Alan said that he would have loved to defend the Foley family if the government tried to prosecute them for raising money to free them because the trial would have lasted just minutes.
Former Congressman (R-FL) and Lt. Col. ALLEN WEST (Ret.) talked about General Dempsey explaining that we have to understand that we might need to put American boots on the ground. He said that the White House and the Pentagon are at odds with each other and you can see that when they say what they believe and then let the administration try to back track. Colonel West agreed with former Secretary of Defense Bob Gates was correct in saying we cannot destroy ISIS. He also said that he would be worried going into combat for this administration because they don’t have a direct plan and tie the hands of our soldiers with rules of engagement.
HOUR 2
FOX’s Chief Congressional Correspondent MIKE EMANUEL discussed the Benghazi hearings and how Rep. Gowdy (R-SC) takes this probe very seriously and wants to get to the truth. Mike also touched on General Dempsey saying that ground troops may be needed saying that many Senators praised him for his honesty. Mike also explained that the General most likely got nasty phone calls from the White House after his testimony.
Journalist BEN HALL dropped by to give a first person account of reporting on the conflict in Syria and Iraq. Ben explained that when the protestors started to rise up against Assad it would have been much easier to tell the difference between the moderates and the terrorists and now we can’t tell if we give the moderates weapons they may give it to ISIS because no one was there to help them in the beginning of their fight. Ben also said that our airstrikes in Iraq helped push back ISIS but it won’t defeat them, it will only keep them where they are. He also says that an inclusive Iraqi government is impossible.
HOUR 3
America’s Newsroom co-hosts MARTHA MACCALLUM and BILL HEMMER dropped by and talked about the friction between the administration and it’s generals and What would forces left in Iraq could have changed the formation of ISIS. They also touched on the new cast of The View having no idea who Charles Krauthammer is.
