Senator Lieberman: U.S. Should be Supplying Ukraine with Lethal Aid; Riedel: Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan Brought about Islamic Extremists.

HOUR 1

Florida Governor RICK SCOTT (R) called in and explained to Brian that he ran for office because the state of Florida was being run like the Federal government with over regulation and high taxes and wanted to change the culture for his children so they could get jobs and have a better future. Governor Scott told Brian how he signed legislation to help auto research to be done in the state and now he’s getting car companies like Audi to move to the state and build plants there for next generation jobs.  On immigration, Governor Scott expressed his frustration with the federal government for sending kids to states without letting the state government know who the children are, where they are going and what health problems they may have.  Governor Scott reiterated that you have compassion for the children but disgust with the federal government for not keeping the states in the loop.

Former Congressman (R-FL) Lt. Col. ALLEN WEST (Ret.) weighed in on Former Navy SEAL and Governor Jesse Ventura (I-MN) suing the widow of former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle over things he wrote in his book “American Sniper.”  He also said that Jesse did more to defile himself by going after his widow and estate.  Col. West believes that Ventura has lost all credibility and should have just walked away after Chris Kyle’s death.  On Russia Brian and the Lt. Col. discussed how the President is wrong and that we are dealing with a new Cold War.  We should also look into having military presence in the Balkans and Poland because that is what will get his attention.  He also explained that Republicans don’t want to impeach the President but the Democrats want to say the do because that would only embolden the base and have the country rally around them.

HOUR 2

Author of “What We Won: America’s Secret War in Afghanistan, 1979-1989” and Senior Fellow and Director of the Brookings Intelligence Project BRUCE RIEDEL explained how the war in Afghanistan and the defeat of the Soviet Union was the beginning of the end of the Cold War, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the end of the Warsaw Pact.  What the invasion of Afghanistan by the Soviet Union actually brought about the Islamic extremism.  If we abandon Afghanistan we may well see the resurgence of Al-Qaeda and although we should leave, we should let the situation on the ground dictate the time of our departure and not announce it 2 years in advance.  On Putin he says that he is using classic KGB tactics to bring about the rise of Russia.

FOX’s Chief Congressional Correspondent MIKE EMANUEL discussed impeachment and how the Democrats are talking about this to fire up the base and get donors to open their wallets and give more money.  With the economy not doing well, all the hot spots in the world the Democrats can’t run on any policy issues.  Brian and Mike also touched on the new VA Bill and immigration.

HOUR 3

Former Connecticut Senator JOE LIEBERMAN (D) weighed in on the President joking about impeachment and sided with Speaker Boehner because you can disagree with the President and that doesn’t mean you can impeach him.  On immigration Senator Lieberman told Brian that we all want reform and he doesn’t know how much the President can do by executive order and if he tries to overreach it will go to the courts.  He also told Brian that yes the GOP should go to court and sue the President because if there is no merit in their case it will be thrown out.  On the crisis in Ukraine he explained that he is trying to push Russian imperialism and is a threat because any time he senses weakness he is going to act.  When the U.S. pulls back from the world scene, like in Syria, someone like Putin will test us.  Senator Lieberman said that we should be giving weapons to Ukraine to match what the Russians are giving the separatists.
