KILMEADE KONDENSED: 9/13/13
BRIAN’S QUOTE OF THE DAY
Brian on Syria’s proposal to give up their chemical weapons: “On the surface it seemed like a good move, it seemed air tight. After all, Syria decides to sign the Non-Proliferation Agreement, saying they won’t have chemical weapons anymore and they said you can come get our chemical weapons. Now here are details: They say, “America we’ll give up these weapons if you promise not to bomb us, which we aren’t going to sign off on, and two, we want Israel to give up their nuclear weapons, is that ok?” And they want to take their time doing it. THAT’S NOT GOING TO FLY!”
HOUR ONE
Fox News’ UN Correspondent Jonathan Wachtel joined Brian to discuss what the United Nations has been doing with regards to the Syrian crisis. Brian asked Jonathan to explain why we get nothing done with the Security Council. Jonathan said, “The issue with the Security Council is that in many ways the Cold War continues. We have stark differences with the Russians and Chinese, on so many issues, and when these issues are taken up in the Security Council, we see these stark differences reflect in attitudes and the inability to get through certain issues.

Lacy Crawford, a former private college counselor and author of ‘Early Decision: Based on a True Frenzy’ (her debut novel), sat down with Brian to discuss the craziness of the college application process. Crawford, who spent 15 years working to help kids with their applications, revealed what it takes to get into college today. She also provided tips on how parents can be of help, or too much help.
Later in the interview, Brian and Lacy were joined by Fox Business Network’s Melissa Francis. Melissa, who went from child actress to business anchor, asked Lacy about the importance of sticking to a college major. Crawford says, “if you major in sports management and you try it for a year and decide it’s not for you, you want to go into fashion, in that interview you just need to say: look, this is what I chose, this is what I learned, and here’s what I bring to the table. I don’t think any employer will hold that against you.”
She also spoke about the importance for parents to let their children be more independent.
“If a child takes control of their own application process and write their own essay in their own voice, really intent on what they want, admissions officers take notice.”
