CPL. BRANDON UNIS, featured in the National Geographic Channel’s “Battleground Afghanistan” talked to Brian about his time in Afghanistan in the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines. 
Unis explained that his unit was doing a “pretty serious mission” last year, which was why the National Geographic show decided to feature them in their new show. “We were pretty much going behind enemy lines,” Unis explained.
He went on to say that one of the greatest challenges of getting behind enemy lines with the Taliban was flying in. “You feel kind of defenseless up there in that helicopter when they’re shooting rockets… at you,” Unis said, “You can’t fight back really.”
