KILMEADE KONDENSED: 6/3/13

BRIAN’S THOUGHTS ON THE DAY

BRIAN KILMEADE But they didn’t look at everybody, they only looked at people on the right.  Please don’t insult us by saying it is not political.  If they only looked at people on the left when George Bush was President you wouldn’t…listen to me behind the microphone…saying the Bush Administration is not the one to benefit from it because it wouldn’t be true!

HOUR ONE

Monday regular and NY Post columnist, MICHAEL GOODWIN, joined Brian and weighed in on the scandals hitting the White House.  When talking about the IRS scandal and Obama’s former advisors saying politics was not involved Goodwin said, “This is the arrogance of power, it totally corrupts every time…this is the corruption of power and it is essentially why the Founders of this nation warned against big government!”

Brian also covered a lot of ground with Fox News’ Chief White House Correspondent ED HENRY.  When asked for his reaction to Rep. Darrell Issa calling Jay Carney a ‘paid liar’ Henry responded,  “That was kind of a cheap shot, I don’t think the name calling going to help Darrell Issa’s case, I think sticking to the facts as some of his Republican colleagues have said is the real key here because the facts have not been on Jay Carney’s side or Eric Holder’s side.“

HOUR TWO

Ambassador John Bolton and Brian touched on the life and service of Sen. Frank Lautenberg and what the open N.J. Senate seat means for Washington.

The two foreign policy experts then went on to discuss the United States military options with regards to Syria.   Ambassador Bolton says the real problem is the regime in Tehran.  “The Russian and Iranian involvement on behalf of the Assad regime are the real issues here.  I agree, given the current status of the opposition, aiding them, could well be aiding Al-Qaeda, or other terrorists… I think you have to look more broadly than Syria, this is a surrogate war between Iran on the one hand, and Sunni Arabs on the other.”  Iran has an “election” on June 14th and the person who wins will be favorable to continuing the nuclear weapons program and hostile to the west.

HOUR THREE

Anchor of Special Report, BRET BAIER, offered up his take on how much bigger the IRS scandal will become if it is revealed the IRS also targeted individuals.  Bret explained, “If it goes down to individuals and the targeting is no longer just about conservative words ‘tea party’ or ‘patriot’ it becomes a much different ballgame.”

Friend of the show,  Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) – Member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, as well as Appropriations, Budget, and Judiciary, stopped by to visit Brian in-studio this morning.  While discussing our options with Syria, Graham said, “What Obama doesn’t realize is that he is making a war with Iran almost guaranteed based on how he is handling Syria.”

In regards to the IRS, Graham urged his colleagues in the House to just put the puzzle together and stay away from name calling.  Graham believes the IRS scandal really is scary; “How would you like your won government to turn on you?”

He said , “I don’t believe this was something thought up in the Cincinnati office, I don’t have any evidence that it goes up to the White House but I don’t think it is a localized issue.  It was a coordinated effort by some people to silence conservative critics of the president, that’s clear, but how far it went…we don’t know.”
