BRIAN’S OPENING THOUGHTS

Brian is shocked that there appears to be a compromise on immigration reform! After all these years, will we finally see things get done? Plus: Brian wants to know why relations with North Korea have gotten so tense.

HOUR ONE

Bret Baier, anchor of Special Report, weighed in on the advances in immigration reform that have occurred, which suggest that both sides of the aisle are coming together and compromising.  Baier said that if this goes through, “it will be one of the best collaborations…in years.” However, he is concerned that Marco Rubio is hesitant: “Rubio is kind of a big part of this.  The fact that he is saying, ‘slow it down,’ I think needs to be taken seriously.

FOX News’ Chief White House Correspondent Ed Henry weighed in on President Obama’s agenda.  Henry said that one thing President Obama didn’t talk about this past Friday was the spending cuts.  “I think he’s trying to move onto other battles,” Henry said. He explained that since the White House has partially lost the sequestration battle, Obama is now shifting his focus onto other issues.

HOUR TWO

Retired four-star General and FOX News Military Analyst, General Keane, talked to Brian about whether or not he is surprised that our relations with North Korea have gotten this tense.  “I think what we have here is a young, inexperienced guy who is… trying to prove his toughness among his military supporters,” General Keane said about Kim Jong-un.

He went onto say that another reason relations with North Korea are this tense is because Kim is frustrated by the U.S.-lead, U.N.-imposed economic sanctions that have resulted from his nuclear and missile testings.

Matt Tavares, author and illustrator of Becoming Babe Ruth, talked to Brian about his new children’s book, and why he felt compelled to tell the story of Babe Ruth’s early years to kids.  Tavares explained that before Babe Ruth became famous, he was a poor child who got into a lot of trouble.  “He managed to turn his life into something and ended up becoming Babe Ruth, the greatest baseball player in the world,” he said.

HOUR THREE

James Rosen, Chief Washington Correspondent and host of “The Foxhole,” talked to Brian about relations with North Korea.  Rosen said that although many are surprised at how tense our relations have gotten with North Korea; very few individuals expect this to turn into a full-fledged war.  “Most analysts interpret this behavior out of the north as part of a pattern that we’ve seen over time,” Rosen explained.  He went onto say that North Korea is trying to push the U.S. back to the negotiating table and produce concessions for the North in exchange for new promises that the North can then break all over again.
