BRIAN’S OPENING THOUGHTS
HE’S BACK! Brian is still convinced that the country will see President Obama reaching a deal, and is curious to hear from his guests why they think Obama is now actually talking to Republicans.
HOUR ONE
Bret Baier, host of Special Report, talked to Brian about whether or not President Obama’s outreach is real and if a big deal is possible. Baier said that he thinks Gallup is responsible for the change we have seen in Obama, who is now actually talking to Republicans: “I think his slip of 10 points in a matter of weeks kind of was a wakeup call… Looking at the polls, he said ‘well this is obviously not working, hammering Republicans over the head. Let’s start talking to them.’”
Former Secretary of Defense William Cohen and his wife, journalist and author Janet Langhart-Cohen, stopped by to talk to Brian! Langhart told Brian about how she got the idea for her one-act play, Anne & Emmett. “Anne Frank and Emmett 
Till, these two teen martyrs, had a lot in common. Not just their dying, but the way the people, their oppressors treated them,” Langhart explained.
Langhart also explained the story of the opening night of her play, which was supposed to take place in 2009 at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. “That performance did not happen because… A neo-Nazi came into the museum, took out a shotgun, and killed a black security guard in a Jewish shrine,” she said. Instead, they had the museum at George Washington University a few nights later on what would’ve been Anne Frank’s 80th birthday.

HOUR TWO
Rep. Peter King (R-NY) talked about his boxing match in the ring at Mulcahy’s Pub in Wantagh with Long Island accountant Josh Foley – who was more than half his age! Rep. King also talked about why he has a problem with Osama Bin Laden’s son-in-law, Abu Ghaith, being held up in a New York City prison.

Journalist, filmmaker and author, Robert Young Pelton, weighed in on America’s relations with Afghanistan. Pelton said he is not surprised we are at this point with Afghanistan: “It’s like telling your wife you’re going to divorce her in three years and then wonder why she changed!”

HOUR THREE
CIA Veteran and bestselling author, Michael Scheuer, weighed in on Osama Bin Laden’s son-in-law, Abu Ghaith, being in a New York City prison. Scheuer said that Ghaith is a well-educated Islamic religious scholar. “He was the spokesman for al-Qaeda,” Scheuer explained, “He was sort of their propaganda minister if you will at a point in time after 9/11.” He went onto say that although Ghaith was never in the same league as Bin Laden, he was still an important voice for al-Qaeda.
James Rosen, Chief Washington Correspondent and author of The Strong Man: John Mitchell and the Secrets of Watergate, talked to Brian about his ten-day trip and interview with Secretary of State Kerry. Rosen also weighed in on Bob Woodward calling out the President, and claiming that he was “being threatened by the White House.” “The opinion of most people is that he kind of overstated things here in suggesting that he was being threatened by the White House. He was not,” Rosen said.
