[VIDEO]: FORMER DEFENSE SECRETARY WILLIAM COHEN AND WIFE, JOURNALIST AND AUTHOR JANET LANGHART-COHEN
Former Secretary of Defense, William Cohen, and his wife, journalist and author Janet Langhart-Cohen stopped by to talk to Brian! Langhart told Brian about how she got the idea for her one-act play, Anne & Emmett. “Anne Frank and Emmett Till, these two teen martyrs, had a lot in common. Not just their dying, but the way the people, their oppressors treated them,” Langhart explained.
Langhart also explained the story of the opening night of her play, which was supposed to take place in 2009 at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. “That performance did not happen because… A neo-Nazi came into the museum, took out a shotgun, and killed a black security guard in a Jewish shrine,” she said. Instead, they had the museum at George Washington University a few nights later on what would’ve been Anne Frank’s 80th birthday.
