KILMEADE’S CLIFF NOTES 10/22/12
Welcome to the last K & F Pre game/debate show for the 2012 campaign
I offered up my game plan for Romney for the fourth and final duel & some free advice to the President.
• I don’t think Mitt would do well to engage the President with the same aggression he brought to the first two debates.. This is a time to sell yourself as a credible representative of the US abroad but make Americans your target audience. Yes we are war fatigued but not tired of thinking of America as a super power willing to send our experts and/or our Army to help a friend or hurt an enemy
• The President has to make Mitt seem like a class A bumbler who insults Allies and misunderstands how we are perceived overseas. The problem – he’s not a propped up political phony- he knows his stuff even if he hasn’t shown it yet.
• Polls rolling in showing Mitt locked at 47 nationally- winning in most battleground states
HOUR ONE
• We greeted a very upbeat optimistic Reince Priebus in our first block..Expects a combative debate—leading with Libya. You can listen to my interview with Reince HERE.
• Following Reince and before calls—Columnist Michael Goodwin joined me LIVE in studio expanding on his weekend words in the Post about how Mitt has finally shown him he’s in it to win it. He would make sure to hit the president over the head with his handling of Libya..From his failure to take action after attacks in the sp[ring, to his lack of action while the attack was happening to his mixed signals from every member of his staff that spoke publicly and his tendency to blame everyone except himself. If you want to hear what Goodwin had to say, you can go buy the podcast!
HOUR TWO
• I took tons of calls from my listeners who told me what they expect from tonight’s debate.
• Dr Larry Sabato from UVA joined me and broke down the states and the stakes. Romney on a roll but it’s far from done, especially with him still trailing in most polls in Ohio. Here my interview with Dr. Sabato.
HOUR THREE
• I continued to take dozens of calls today all with advice for Mitt. However, a few think he should take my advice and be less aggressive and about substance but that’s more than ok with me.
• Ed Henry, FOX’s Chief White House Correspondent, joined me live from Boca Raton who previewed some of President Obama’s talking points. For example, there is not a whole lot Gov. Romney will do differently than President Obama when it comes to foreign policy. Go buy the PODCAST to hear the interview.
