Georgia Republican Congressman Mike Collins joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to explain why he believes Democrats would bear the responsibility if Congress is unable to pass a funding resolution to avert a federal government shutdown.
“The fact that, yes, they’re holding up the funding of the government. They wanna shut the government down just to give illegals healthcare. People like Jose Ibarra, they wanna make sure that they defund the $50 million that we’re spending out there on rural hospitals, like what’s so important in my district. But on top of that, we were getting back to regular order. I mean, you figure, we had already pushed 60% of the appropriation bills out of the House, over to the Senate. They’ve gotten them back, and now we’re gonna go to conference on those. But instead of just giving a little bit more time with a clean CR that the Democrats have voted on and approved the same CR 13 times under the Biden administration, oh no, now we can’t do that. We’re getting back to regular order. We might get these federal agencies under control. We might be able to rein them in by saying you’re only gonna be appropriated this much money instead of passing out blank checks all the time and say, see you next year. So there’s a lot here with this. But in general, yes, Chuck Schumer, all he’s worried about y’all is a primary. He is worried about AOC coming in there primarying and kicking him out of a job.”
