Fox News senior correspondent Benjamin Hall joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to discuss the inspiration behind his new book, Resolute: How We Humans Keep Finding Ways to Beat the Toughest Odds.
“You know, at the very beginning, I was treated at the Brooke Army Medical Center. You know, I wasn’t walking that my legs were weren’t there, and I was very badly burned. And the first thing that that happened is veterans started coming to my bedside and they stood at the end of the bed and they said, look at us. Whatever you’re feeling right now, you’re getting through it. Joey Jones sent me an email early on and checked in on me all the time saying, hey, I know what you’re going through is difficult, but look at me, you’re going to get through it. And he also made a point. He said, you know, that it won’t be easy, but know that if you keep going, you’ll get through it. That’s the point again. So I learned from all of those people, and I think one of the reasons I wrote this book is to pass that on to others. And it’s not just if you’ve been injured the way that I’ve been injured or people like me have been injured. The same is true if you are having financial problems, anxiety, family issues, you know there are problems that can be broken down and you must always stand up and say, you know what? I will find a way through this one. And so that’s what the book, I really try to focus on.”
