Sanctuary city mayors from New York, Denver, Chicago, and Boston testified before Congress on Wednesday as they answered questions on their policies regarding illegal migrants. The mayors were defiant, often clashing with Republican lawmakers in defending their “sanctuary” status. Former Migrant Shelter Director in the Boston area Jon Fetherston joins the Rundown to share what he experienced while working in migrant housing, what benefits illegal immigrants are entitled to if they come to the United States, and why he believes Boston Mayor Michelle Wu is unfit for her position.
During his address to Congress on Tuesday, President Donald Trump broke the news that the ISIS-K terrorist responsible for the Abbey Gate bombing in 2021 was arrested. The attack killed thirteen American troops, and Mohammaed Sharifullah landed in Virginia earlier this week to face charges. Mark Schmitz lost his son, Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz, in the attack and joins the Rundown to share his family’s story and react to the news.
