Florida Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to share her reaction to singer Selena Gomez posting a now-deleted video of herself crying on Instagram in response to the ICE raids targeting illegal immigrants who have committed crimes in the United States.
“So there are those of us in Congress, like the Republican Study Committee, people that understand the president’s policies and positions. But we really are up against, I think, the propaganda machine. And so it was ironic, right? Because I believe Selena Gomez was actually forced to remove her video because so many people were like, what are you talking about? He’s literally deporting people that are violent criminals and rapists. These are obviously not people, and I would hope that that’s not reflective of her fan base. Kind of a weird statement for her to make. But, you know, again, I think this also goes into really what the left is trying to do with forcing minorities specifically into certain boxes and certain voting blocs. So we know that in 2016, the Hispanic voting majority started to become the largest voting minority in the country. And so as a result of that, you saw the Democrat Party really shift their positioning on targeting Hispanic voters as opposed to Black voters. And now Selena Gomez, she’s arguably one of the most influential artists in our country and also in South America. But for her to be putting out basic propaganda, which is exactly what that is, I think that they just never anticipated that social media would be such a good buffer in refuting that bad information. And so you’re kind of seeing them start to pick that up again. But again, she’s lost that argument. We know that a majority of Hispanics actually voted in favor of President Trump’s policies and also Black Americans as well.”
