Joe Concha: Welcome back. This is Joe Concha in for Guy Benson on this inauguration day. Historic. Monumental. And I actually wrote a book on the 2024 campaign called The Greatest Comeback Ever Inside Trump’s Big, Beautiful Campaign, unburdened by what has Been. And if you’re gonna write a book on a guy who just won an election, probably a good idea to get an interview with that person. And Donald Trump graciously gave me about 35 minutes by phone. Not too long ago, we talked about the first assassination attempt and exactly what was going through his mind when he decided to get up and start pumping assistance, saying fight, fight, fight, when there could have been another shooter or didn’t know exactly what was going on as far as if the active shooter was neutralized. Also, we talked about what’s going to be different about his second term compared to 2017 to 2021. And then we touched on voter fraud as well. On his plans in Trump to auto to fix what clearly is a broken voting system where we sometimes don’t have votes counted for many, many weeks after an election. So please enjoy this interview I had with President Trump back in December. It’s a doozy.

(INTERVIEW BEGINS)

Joe Concha: I want to talk about the first assassination attempt. You know, you get hit. You know, you take cover. You’re on the ground. Secret Service agents on top of you. You know you’re bleeding. Weren’t you concerned that before that iconic moment that you know, this probably the second most popular picture of all time, which is you pumping your fist and saying, fight, fight, fight. Were you still thinking, well, there could be a second shooter? I may still be in danger? What made you get up and do that, considering that you could have still been in danger?

President Trump: Well, I felt the bullets going over my head when I was out. I was also lucky I went down so fast, but I felt the bullets going over my head. Actually, the Secret Service was very brave because they were the you know, it’s a different group that handled that and handled location of, you know, of assets. But but they were the guys that were with me were right on top of me, you know, very immediately. And you hear the bullets. You know, I never thought I’d really be hearing the sound that they go whizzing by. And it had stopped. You know, there was a one different sounding bullet. That was the sniper. Our sniper who was amazing, by the way, to hit him from that far away. Actually, he did a tremendous service. Amazing that he was able to do that. So I didn’t feel that. I didn’t think about that. Actually. I had assumed it stopped because there was a lot of activity. As you can imagine. It was a lot. I also had a very strong awareness of what had happened to me. You know, the Secret Service, because of the amount of blood. They thought I’d been hit in numerous locations because there were, you know, many bullets fired. And I said, was it in the air? I was on I was hit in the air. And it was funny. I had you know, when I went to the when I went to the White House, when I won the election and I stood in front of the Lincoln Bedroom, that was a very surreal experience to me. It was a very, very surreal moment. But when I was hit, I was totally aware of what was happening. It was strange because you would say that would be the most surreal experience, and I knew I was hit in the air. I know I was bleeding a lot, but they thought I was hit in numerous places because of the amount, because in here they say bleeds don’t dry. And, you know, but when you get hit in the air, it bleeds. You see it in fights sometimes, you know the pro fights when you get hit and it bleeds more than any other place in the in the body and having to do with cartilage. And the doctor told me that. And I said, was it you know, it’s to stop the bleeding and and it was really a mess. So but I knew I wasn’t just in the they thought I’d be hit in other parts of the body. So I had like a total awareness and I wanted to get up because I thought it was a bad, bad signal to stay down. I also knew that as long as I was down, people are going to assume that I’m no longer around. And you know, you have the family. I had my family watching it on television.

Joe Concha: Yeah, I was I thought.

President Trump: You imagine that. I know my wife was watching and my son heard about it and ran in. He was having a tennis lesson. And Barron ran in, you know, some young a young boy said, Buried in your father’s red shirt. Can you imagine the kid know? And he ran in and, you know, is very upset. So it was it was rough stuff. And I felt I had to get up. And I also had you know, we had 55,000 people there. That was a big crowd. Yeah. We had one. 7000 on the on the second one, you know things all.

Joe Concha: Around some and Butler was on in seven Wow okay I didn’t know that.

President Trump: Right And so and there were a lot of cameras. You know there were amazing numbers of cameras. Amazing. Or the one picture just captivated everybody. I were really a few, but the one picture really captivated. But so that’s it, You know, I mean, I you know, I was I wanted to get up. They had a stretcher next to me and they wanted me to go on this stretch. I mean, there’s no way I was going to a stretcher. And but the stretcher was right there. They they move quickly and the stretcher was there. But I didn’t I didn’t want to do that. I just said I’m you know, I’m screaming. I’m not getting on a stretcher. So anyway, so I’m glad I didn’t.

Joe Concha: I’m sure. So switching gears on, in terms of your second term, how will your second term be different from the first? Like, what are you feeling right now? When you went into Washington in 2017, you didn’t know a lot of the players that were involved. You didn’t realize the deep state what what it was. Now you have that experience. You know who you should surround yourself with. What’s going to be The biggest difference that we’re going to see from Trump’s second term? From his first.

President Trump: Right. And I didn’t know the level of evil. Yeah, these are evil people. Guys like Schiff who made up a story about, you know, the quid pro quo. I remember he said seven is an eight times quid pro quo. Think of that. I would make a statement to a man I never spoke to eight times about criminality. I mean, just not always. I said over and over and over the same thing, right? Yeah. Drilled into his head, This guy is sick. Schiff And now he’s a senator. This is a sick human being. But he got up in Congress and there’s not a thing you can do. And then after he made the statement, I released a tape of the call and it turned out that they had no case. And I won unanimously. We had a unanimous vote for the Republicans. But it shows how evil they are because they knew that they made up a story. Think of it. They made up a story and went all the way. And, you know, when I released that tape, a lot of the you know, we had it was transcribed by two, you know, military, very professional transcribers when I released a tape that killed them. But they didn’t know I had a tape. So just got any such relating what was on the phone call And what a disgrace when that tape came out, you know, Nancy Pelosi went nuts. She was she was furious when she heard the tape because she said you can impeach him for that. But they had already started. And it’s just a terrible situation that they can do that to the country.

Joe Concha: And I completely agree. It was revealed after the election by her team that Kamala Harris, Mr. President, her internal numbers, according to her own campaign, they never had her leading. Did your internal numbers always tell you that this race was likely yours? Because I went on Fox weeks before you came on and I said, he’s going to win every swing states probably end up with 312 electoral votes. And even Hannity is like, you know, you’re a little you’re the most bullish guest I have on this. Like, I know what I see. I see the early numbers and I just know where this election’s going. But is that what your internal numbers were telling you, that this was really. Thanks. I appreciate.

President Trump: That one. Most people didn’t want to go out there, you know, they didn’t want to go there. You were great. You were always you. So what was that? But, you know, I think we had very good numbers. I had Fabricio and John McLaughlin, both of them, and they both had us leading it pretty easily. And probably, look, my only risk was cheating. I felt if we could keep the cheating down to a minimum because they cheat like like broken dogs, they are the worst cheaters. And that’s all they want to do. They go to a meeting and they study. How can we cheat? We go to a meeting to talk about politics. It’s unbelievable how crooked they are, how crooked that election was. Even the second one. Look, they’re still counting votes in California, Jose.

Joe Concha: Yeah, it’s December 16th.

President Trump: I think of it, geez.

Joe Concha: It’s a broken.

President Trump: Vote in California.

Joe Concha: Yeah. And they have it done in like places like Argentina and like, you know, six hours they recount the entire country. It makes no sense. Well, that be a day one priority in France.

President Trump: You know, France is a system and, you know, same thing. And except they didn’t cheat as much. Now our system is very broken. They cheat like crazy. California is out of control. California, if you’re running I because I think I did great in California and they have you losing by like 3 million votes. And so, I mean, most guys have losing by 7 million. But they said that 38 million, I think it’s 38 million, something like that. Some ridiculous number of ballots. And they don’t have voting anything. You know, when you go to a normal state and I’ve been to many of them, you walk in, they check your records, look at your documentation. They. Really hard to cheat, to be honest with you. When you do the mail and stuff, it means automatically it’s going to cheat automatically. And when they do lack of verification. Did you ever hear that? I won every state with his verification, Every state.
