Victor Davis Hanson on Trump’s Meetings With World Leaders Over the Weekend: “Trump is Now the De Facto President… There Is No Biden”

Victor Davis Hanson, the Martin and Illie Anderson Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution with a focus on classics and military history, joined The Guy Benson Show to analyze the rapid collapse of the Assad regime in Syria, fueled by the destruction of Hezbollah and Hamas alongside Russia’s continued failures in Ukraine. Hanson shared his perspective on the likely fragmentation of Syria into tribal-controlled regions with a de facto government structure. He also warned of the dangers posed by President Biden’s diminished presence, with Trump taking on an unusual de facto presidential role. Finally, Hanson reflected on the brewing reckoning universities may face in response to widespread campus antisemitism. You can listen to the full interview below!

Hanson had this to say on Trump acting as a “de facto” president:

“The world not only is treating him like president, they want him to be president. And that’s what’s unusual…There is no Biden. And so what’s really strange about it, even the left, it’s almost as if leftists shrug their shoulders. And so, like, I can’t take this lie anymore. I can’t take four years of saying this man is saying… is competent, he’s fit as a fiddle.”
