Early Voting is the New Way
For better or worse, American elections will never be the same again.
Early voting is the new way for tens of millions of Americans.
I’m Tomi Lahren, more next.
Before Election Day, more 78 million ballots were already cast in 47 states plus DC.
Now believe it or not, the early vote totals are actually down from 2020 when more than 110 million Americans voted early in person or via mail.
But that doesn’t mean early voting is decreasing in popularity. 2020 was a COVID year and some folks were scared to go outside.
The early vote totals in 2024 are indicative of changing sentiments, especially among Republican voters who have been hesitant to partake in the “new” voting options.
North Carolina and Georgia both saw high early vote turnout this year. In Georgia, the numbers even surpassed 2020 levels.
In 4 of the 7 swing states, data indicates Republican voters made up a larger share of the pre-election vote than they did in 2020.
This is significant and this attitude shift will no doubt impact future elections.
I voted early this year and I’ve never seen early vote lines that long. Even in deep red Tennessee.
Election season, rather than Election Day is likely the new way.
