Evening Edition: In North Carolina, Recovery Becomes A Community Effort

The cleanup and recovery efforts continue in western North Carolina as residents are desperately hoping running water is restored as many have been without it for weeks now. Thousands remain without power with smaller mountain communities predicting it could be months before they get their infrastructure back up and running. Nearly one hundred people lost their lives, the majority of them are being attributed to the mass flooding, and another hundred are still missing.

FOX’s Eben Brown speaks with Mark Starling, morning host at FOX Radio Affiliate WWNC in Asheville, North Carolina, who says everyone affected by Hurricane Helene’s devastation are doing what they can to help each other return to normal.
