School Cell Phone Bans
Many schools across the nation moved to ban cell phone use in the classroom.
Finally a school ban we should all get behind.
I’m Tomi Lahren, more next.
As students head back to the classroom this fall, many will face a new and possibly unpleasant reality, cell phone restrictions.
Several schools across the US have taken steps to restrict or even ban cell phone use in the classroom.
Some schools have adopted the Yonder Pouch approach where students seal off their phones in a pouch throughout the school day.
While students might go through figurative withdrawal being separated from their digital pacifiers, this method is backed by research.
A 2023 pilot study of one ninth grade classroom showed phone-free students had the highest GPAs in the school.
A Pew Research study from the same year showed 72% of high school teachers view cell phones as a major problem in the classroom.
This stands to reason. Students who are buried in or distracted with their cell phones are not actively learning or absorbing information.
Not to mention the mental health implications that go along with an unhealthy attachment to devices and social media.
If my tax dollars are going to fund education, I’d prefer the students are LEARNING NOT SCROLLING!
