Singer and songwriter John Rich joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to talk about the inspiration behind his new song, “The Man”.
“I think a lot of people are under the misnomer that you inherit your freedom. You don’t inherit freedom. Freedom is something that can be gone in an instant. And this song is is put out there on purpose to remind us all whose shoulders we stand on, what’s at stake today. Listen, we’ve been standing on their shoulders since the 40s all the way to ’23. And now look what’s going on with the country. We’re the next set of shoulders. We’ve got to step up and do what’s got to be done so we still have an America in another 40, 50 years. I hate to be bleak about it, but look what’s going on. This has never happened. I promise you, if you told the Greatest Generation. hey guys, in 2023 your border will be standing wide open. Chinese balloons will be floating across the U.S. We’re going to be the most docile country in the world as the world burned to the ground, they would said, what the hell happens to American in 2023? You know, we’ve got to wake up and realize what’s around and what kind of legacy we’ve got to live up to.”
John and Jimmy also preview next week’s Fox Nation Patriot Awards in Nashville. Listen to the podcast to hear what else he had to say!
