Evening Edition: McCarthy Ousted As Speaker, How Did We Get Here?

Kevin McCarthy has become the first Speaker of the House ever to be ousted from the position. A group of GOP hard-liners led by Rep. Matt Gaetz orchestrated the historic vote of 216-210 that pushed McCarthy out. Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-N.C) was named speaker ‘pro tempore’ to serve until a new speaker is chosen. McCarthy has already said he doesn’t plan on running for the position again.
