Jesse Watters: I Have a Theory About the White House Cocaine
Jesse Watters, host of Jesse Watters Primetime, which is moving to the 8 p.m. ET slot on July 17th, & co-host on The Five joined Guy on the Guy Benson Show to discuss his upcoming move to primetime television. Jesse and Guy also discussed Joe Biden’s gaffe filled week and the White House cocaine mystery.
Listen to the full interview below:
Watters had this to say about the White House cocaine mystery:
“But I don’t think it’s just a White House staffer doing a bump in between briefings. My sources say that Hunter’s living at the residence and obviously he can’t go out and score narcotics, so he has to have someone bring it in…”
Full transcript:
Guy Benson: Joining us now is Jesse Waters, host of Jesse Waters Prime Time. And starting on Monday, he’ll be in the 8 p.m. Eastern Time slot on Fox News Channel. Every night, of course, he’s also co-host of The Five, 5 p.m EST. Eastern Monday through Friday. Jesse, welcome back to the show.
Jesse Watters: Thanks so much, Guy.
Guy Benson: All right. So this is quite an exciting moment, I would guess, for you, having worked famously in that timeslot for years. 8 p.m., Big deal. And now your show, Jesse Waters Primetime moving into that period, that coveted time slot. And cable news is going to be like the same show that you’ve been doing at seven just an hour later, you tweaking it at all. What can people expect?
Jesse Watters: Well, I’m incapable of changing. Okay. I, I can I can only enhance certain elements of the success at seven. And we’re going to be doing some more enterprising reporting, more confrontations, more street stuff, investigations. And you’ll love it just as much as you love the seven. You’re going to love it even more.
Guy Benson: Even more. Is that even possible, Jesse?
Jesse Watters: With you? Possible, Guy.
Guy Benson: Okay. And now, if you’re going to write How I Saved the World again, well, this move to 8:00 be, I think, a crucial part of that world saving times two.
Jesse Watters: Well, listen, I’m not writing another book off the record. Perhaps I am. And this will be a great opportunity to promote it at 8:00.
Guy Benson: Okay. There we go. We’ll be watching. Starting on Monday, the brand new line up with Laura Ingraham at seven, Jesse now at eight. Sean staying put at nine. And Greg Gutfeld, the king of late night now slightly less late night. He’ll try to be the king of primetime at 10 p.m. Eastern. And Trace Gallagher moving up to 11 Eastern. All right, Jesse, let’s talk about a couple of things. I know you addressed this on your show last night. Just want to get your reflections again here. This cocaine matter at the White House, we were talking about it just in the last hour as well. It just, I think, strikes so many Americans as implausible that if the Secret Service, for example, was handed a bag of dangerous, whatever the substance might be, anthrax, and then something else like that, they would just say, oh, gosh, you know, there’s no fingerprints and no cameras. So we don’t know. Sorry, case closed within a few days. People don’t believe that. Like, if they really wanted to throw everything at this, we would eventually get answers. So do they not want answers? Did they ultimately decide that cocaine doesn’t really matter that much compared to something like anthrax? It just seems like a pretty weak moment that will stir a lot of skepticism.
Jesse Watters: Well, they don’t want answers because it’s not a tourist, Guy. What kind of tourist goes on a White House tour? Realizes they have coke and it has the wherewithal to go to a special cubbyhole that needs a key. Lock it in the cubbyhole and then take the key. It’s implausible. The only way you have access to this little cubby area is if you are White House staff or whether you were in the First Family. So they’ve narrowed it down that far, but they don’t want to narrow it down even further. But let’s just say it’s not Hunter. Let’s say it’s not Ashley Biden. If you are the chief of staff, the president of the United States, and one of your staff members either is doing narcotics at work or dealing narcotics at work, wouldn’t you want to know who that was? Yeah, just. Just to just to know. Just to. Just to make sure you have an understanding of who’s working. Well.
Guy Benson: Here’s the here’s the thing, Jesse, to build on that point, not to make a mountain out of a molehill of coke, but in this case, just to draw out what you were just saying. Either you’ve got someone let’s say it’s White House staff, let’s say it’s not first family. You’ve got someone so brazen that they feel confident they can bring cocaine into the White House with impunity. That’s a problem. Or you’ve got someone so addicted to coke that they feel like the risk is worth it because they need that fix, even if it is a low level staffer or whatever that is meaningful, because that’s also someone who might be, I don’t know, subject to blackmail and, you know, hostile powers. If they got a sense here, someone working in the White House with a problem, they could exploit that and take advantage of that. There is actually potentially a national security component to this. The idea that they would just drop it after, what, a week and just say, oh, well, can’t do it. Too bad. Unsolved mystery. I just don’t think people are going to buy that.
Jesse Watters Right. So they’re either able to be blackmailed or they’re so erratic because of their addiction. Right. That they’re not putting the American people first. They’re putting their addiction first. But I don’t think it’s just a White House staffer doing a bump in between briefings. My sources say that the hunter’s living at the residence and obviously he can’t go out and score narcotics, so he has to have someone bring it in. So he’s probably got a staffer and it was a drop. They were using the club as the drop, and Hunter must have a key or the other guy that was doing the drop of the key because that’s the only way you get access. So cubbyhole.
Guy Benson: That’s your theory? That’s your theory or that’s what you’re hearing happened?
Jesse Watters: That is my theory with my I am hearing from sources that Hunter is living at the White House. I also have sources that are telling me it could be Ashley’s as well. But my theory is that the cubbyhole was a drawer.
Guy Benson: Got it. Meanwhile, speaking of the Bidens, a CNN story yesterday, Jesse, I’ll just read the opening paragraph and then we can sort of riff from there. Quote, The conversations keep happening quiet. Whispers on the sidelines of events, texts, emails, furtive phone calls as top Democrats and donors reach out to those seen as possible replacement presidential candidates. And the thrust of the story is there’s a lot of anxiety among professional Democrats who just aren’t really sold that Joe Biden can or should run for reelection. And they’re quietly seeking and sort of casting about for other options. The campaign put out their fundraising numbers $72 million in the quarter, which is a lot, but it’s also an incumbent. It’s not nearly as much as Barack Obama, for example, had raised up to this point. You can look at the Trump numbers as well. There are reports that some of their grassroots fundraising is quite weak. There’s been almost no actual campaigning by either one of these people, the President or the Vice President. It’s been kind of basement 2.0 so far. Is this sort of bedwetting from the Democrats? Is this maybe people getting too nervous too soon, or do you think there’s an actual organized push afoot to force this ticket off the ticket next year?
Jesse Watters: There’s a famous saying, you know what the difference is between you and I and rich people Guy? They have money. And when you have a lot of money, would you put all of your money in Joe Biden? Would you sink millions of dollars in that investment? Smart people have money because they’re smart and they don’t get that money because they’re stupid. They hedge and they’re hedging right now. They’re looking for a backup because they don’t believe for a number of reasons either because he doesn’t look physically fit or he’s not mentally sharp enough or the bribe investigations are starting to heat up that they might need an alternative. And that alternative is Gavin Newsom, not Kamala, not Mayor Pete, it’s Gavin. And that’s why he keeps warming up in the bullpen. He’s been in touch with donors. He’s been flexing with Hannity, He’s been traveling. He looks like the number two. And so I don’t blame them. Do you blame them? I mean, Joe Biden was caught. Sunbathing on a beach guy. Do you want to see the president of the United States laying down in the sun with his eyes closed? You want to see hit at the beach, maybe play cornhole, dive through the waves like Barak. Play golf, Play tennis. Ride a bike if you don’t fall. That was not a good look. And that tells me that he doesn’t even care and it tells donors that they’re throwing their money away. And the fact that I have more staff on Jesse Watters Primetime than Joe Biden’s reelection campaign does should scare a lot of people.
Guy Benson: So if you had to bet a lot of money because, you know, you said the difference between us and rich people, I think, you know, you’re getting into that category. You got 8 p.m. money coming up here, Jesse. If you were to bet your salary, will Joe Biden be the nominee for the Democrats next year? Would you bet on him or against him?
Jesse Watters: I would bet your salary.
Guy Benson: That a pittance. A pittance.
Jesse Watters: You know, I learned after the red wave in the last midterm cycle not to make predictions. So I’m not going to make a prediction. And you’ve heard the president say, you know, I’m a big believer in fate. And I mean, he can take a fall and I don’t want to see him take a fall, but he could have a health scare, you know, or the powers that be. We can just say, Joe, you know what? It’s time to tap out.
Guy Benson: Yeah. Or he runs and and everything goes according to plan and he’s the nominee as the incumbent. That could happen. See, to me, we’re talking about the image of Joe Biden napping on the beach. That concerns me a lot less than the tripping and the falling. And we all stumble from time to time. It’s we’re humans. We make mistakes. But when someone of that age stumbles or falls, it’s a little bit scarier. There was the Air Force Academy one. Now, multiple examples on these stairs going up to Air Force One. I know you probably saw the Joy Reid or was it it was Mika Brzezinski who went off saying this is the staff’s fault. I think a lot of that was silly as she’s just venting because she sees a problem and wants to blame someone other than the president. But I mean, Jessie, at some point, should they stop having Joe Biden walk up stairs to an airplane when he has these incidents? I mean, it’s not a great look. If the president repeatedly falls while he’s trying to get on his airplane.
Jesse Watters: Are you saying they should install those things that my grandmother had? When you sit on the chair and it zips you up the flight of stairs.
Guy Benson: It might be an advertisement, actually.
Jesse Watters: So we love them. Yeah, but what’s the alternative to me? Are you supposed to have handlers arm in arm with the president? Right. Scorning him like he’s going to a black tie affair? I don’t know if that’s worse. It might be having him walk by himself and risk falling or having someone hold his hand. Either way, it’s dangerous. My grandfather on my father’s side through marriage, I lived to 100, and when he was 100, he fell and he hit his head. And. And that was it. And, you know, I don’t want to talk about it because it could kind of curse the president. But these are the things people are concerned about, and that’s why the donors are getting antsy.
Guy Benson: Lastly, Jesse Waters, I don’t know if you’ve seen this, but Hunter Biden’s attorneys are now demanding a cease and desist against former President Trump. Stop posting. Stop talking about Hunter Biden. You’re putting Hunter and his family in danger. I mean, this is first of all, they have Secret Service protection. Point number one. Point number two, criticizing someone harshly. We all get criticism. You get it? I get it. Anyone in the public eye gets at the idea like, oh, you better stop criticizing me for like in this case, my crimes. Speaking on the Hunter situation, because you’re putting my family in danger. You’re putting me in danger. I mean, there’s no chance this flies in court. But the fact that they’re even trying this cease and desist against Trump, I mean, seems, I don’t know, desperate, silly. Why even bother with this?
Jesse Watters: Hunter’s daddy is trying to throw Trump in prison where he’s going to die. Hunter’s worried about tweets. His dad’s trying to make his opponent die in jail. I mean, between this and, like, the laptop’s not real. Well, maybe it’s real, but you stole it, and its mine. But it’s fake. This is like a 13-year-old girl legal defense. You’re mean. You’re going to get me killed. You can’t use that anymore.
Guy Benson: It’s a burn book defense.
Jesse Watters: You’re a grown man. Does stop saying mean stuff about me? You’re going to get me killed. No, come on.
Guy Benson: Yeah, but Hunter Biden, I guess, has been doing things that people might suggest any grown man or a President’s son would never get away with, but he has been getting away with it. So I guess there is a certain sense of invincibility about this, about this guy and around this family. And I guess that’s why they feel brazen enough to go out publicly. I just think it would be almost embarrassing, like humiliating at some point to try. But some people are beyond shame. This might be one of them. Jesse Waters is host of Jesse Waters Prime Time. And starting next week, brand new line up on Fox News Channel. Jesse’s show will be at 8 p.m. EST every weeknight just a couple of hours after The Five, which he also co-hosts that staying put right there at 5 p.m. EST. Jesse. Break a leg. Best of luck in the new slot. We’ll be watching and we’ll talk to you soon.
Jesse Watters: Thanks so much, Guy. Have a great weekend.
