Singer, songwriter and Fox Nation host John Rich joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to explain why Bud Light still has not been able to win back the customers they alienated following the beer brand’s tumultuous decision to partner with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney earlier this year.
“My whiskey’s in 10,000 plus stores now and here’s my marketing plan. If you support God, family and country Redneck Riviera is your brand. End of sentence. And I know not everybody loves God, family and country. I’m not trying to sell whiskey to everybody. I’m trying to sell my products to people that feel like I feel and want to have something great that they can afford and go, you know what? I believe in what this brand stands for. It’s a real heartbreaker for people who’ve been loyal to a brand for decades and decades. I drank Bud Light. My daddy drank Bud Light. We drank Bud Light with my grandpa sitting around, you know, back in the day. And now they go, I can’t buy a Bud Light anymore. What am I going to buy? At my bar downtown in Nashville, it went from the number one beer to zero. Nobody would purchase it. And so we had to have the distributor come and pick up 118 cases of Bud Light from Redneck Riviera because nobody would buy it. And it got replaced with Yingling and some other beers like that. And now everybody’s like, great, I think I love Yingling now. You know, people just move on and they put their money somewhere else.”
