Democratic strategist and co-host of “The Five” Jessica Tarlov joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to give her take on California Governor Gavin Newsom advising Florida Governor DeSantis to “pack up and wait a few years” instead of challenging former President Trump for the GOP nomination in 2024.

“He mentioned it in his interview with Jen Psaki on her new show. And it’s definitely starting to percolate more that people are looking at DeSantis and saying, like, maybe just wait it out, babe. Because you are heading into a hail storm that you are not prepared for. I think Trump posted on Truth Social essentially saying the same thing. Like, you’re doing okay. Maybe you should sit there for a while because you’re losing big time. And he is losing big time. He’s raising all this money. His latest haul was like $30 million. There’s obviously an appetite in the Republican Party for somebody other than Trump, just not with the primary base. And they’re going to show up and they’re going to vote that way. But I said last week, we were talking about Newsom heads to Florida and DeSantis is in Michigan, you know, bringing his anti-woke speech or whatever over there. And I have to say, sidebar, this development now that we look at Michigan as a blue state is so emblematic of what’s going on right now with the state of our politics, with the abortion issue and the gun issue that Dems have been able to sweep through. But anyway, I’m looking at this and I’m saying, this is what the country wants to see, right? They want to see two young governors with clear platforms, with accomplishments to defend. They’ve been in the crux of these battles over what you do over COVID. They have different immigration policies, education policies, abortion policies. And that’s what we deserve.”
