Extra: Are We Repeating Past COVID Mistakes?

As cases increase here and around the world, COVID-19 restrictions are beginning to make a comeback. Earlier this week, most visitors coming from China, where there has been a dramatic surge in recent weeks, must provide a negative test from the past 48 hours before they can enter the United States.

This policy comes at the same time as some school districts have begun to enforce mask mandates.

On Thursday, Dr. Robert Redfield, who was the Director of the CDC under President Trump, joined the Rundown’s Dave Anthony to discuss what’s driving the current uptick in cases and whether or not the return of the peak-pandemic policies will be effective.

Dr. Redfield, who once endorsed similar mandates and rules in the past, explained why we should have a different approach to combatting the virus now. He also explained why our country’s health policymakers have failed to properly explain the value of the vaccines that are now available.

Due to time limitations, we could not include all of the conversations in our original segment. On the FOX News Rundown Extra, you will hear our entire interview with former CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield and get his full take on the mistakes we made fighting the pandemic and what our approach should be now as we learn to live with COVID-19.
