Howie Kurtz: Elon Musk Can Best Be Described As An Erratic Genius
Host of “MediaBuzz” Howie Kurtz joins Fox Across America With guest host Ben Domenech to share some of his takeaways from the latest installment of the “Twitter Files”, which focus on how past and current presidential administrations relied on tech giants to moderate content during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Now, look, when the Trump administration was winding up its tour, it pressured Twitter as well. But this is so much worse and so much more chilling for me as a journalist, because you’re specifically targeting particular people, whether you’re a fan of former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson or not, these other multiple accounts, and they’re very angry. Well, that’s a lot of pressure when you consider the clout of an incumbent administration. And now, the White House says well, you know, it’s a private company they can do whatever they want. But it turns out it’s not just Twitter. These meetings were being held with Facebook and other social media sites. But it is amazing to me that the incumbent administration feels like it’s even appropriate to try to get people banned. And we still don’t have the full story.”
Howie and Ben also talk about what’s happened during Elon Musk’s first two months as CEO of Twitter. Listen to the podcast to hear what else he had to say!
