Jon Levine: George Santos Lied About His Resume But He Hasn’t Committed A Crime
New York Post Political reporter Jon Levine joins Fox Across America With guest host Ben Domenech to share his thoughts on whether New York Republican Congressman-elect George Santos should resign over allegations he lied or misled about parts of his resume.
“He lied about working at Goldman Sachs. He lied about graduating college. He lied about being Jewish. He lied about personal details. None of those things are a crime. You know, Elizabeth Warren lied about being a Cherokee Indian for most of her career, and billed herself as the first Native American University professor at Harvard. Well, is she resigning over that? No. Richard Blumenthal lied about serving in the Vietnam War. Is stolen valor something that you resign over? Apparently not either. You know, what Santos has right now is stolen yuppie. He’s impersonating a Wall Street fat cat when he’s apparently not. But not a crime. Now if it veers into criminal territory, there’s still the question of where his money comes from. There’s still the question of some weirdness on his federal election disclosure. Then it’s a different story. But right now, nothing at all that’s resignable. And most importantly, he’s a safe vote for Kevin McCarthy, who needs every single vote he can get now. So no pressure coming from there.”
