Rep. Kat Cammack: It Shouldn’t Be Congress’ Responsibility To Resolve Labor Disputes
Florida Republican Congresswoman Kat Cammack joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to explain why she voted against House-passed legislation to avert a national railroad strike.
“I think it sends a pretty poor message when we’re telling the American people that we’re going to go in and we’re going to resolve these union negotiations. And I understand why we’re at this point. We’re going off of legislation that was passed in the 1920s, back when there was major issues within the unions and the union bosses. But now today, I think it’s ridiculous because my question is, when does it stop? There are no limits to where this can go. So Congress has spoken today. It passed with overwhelming Democrat support, and I was a no, to be honest. But I think that people will be able to say, oh, everything’s fine. It’s not going to ruin Christmas. It wasn’t going to ruin Christmas. We know that. But I think we need to get back to a place where there’s thoughtful legislation that is being handled on the House floor instead of Congress being the arbiter on a union deal that’s gone awry because the White House couldn’t get their act together.”
Rep. Cammack and Jimmy also talk about the Left’s outrage over changes Elon Musk is implementing on Twitter. Listen to the podcast to hear what else she had to say!
