Madison Gesiotto Gilbert: People Feel Like Their Elected Officials Aren’t Listening To Them On The Issues
Republican candidate for Congress in Ohio’s 13th District Madison Gesiotto Gilbert joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to shed light on why combating violent crime is one of the top issues for voters she’s been talking to while out on the campaign trail.
“You look in Akron specifically, since it’s in my district, and you see the murders in 2019, 2020, 2021, very high. This year, we’re on record to potentially pass what was our 2020 all-time high record of violent murders in the city. So what these people are doing is not keeping people safe. And not just mothers, mothers, fathers, grandparents, people all across my district are very worried about this. They’re scared and they don’t feel that they have good representation. They don’t feel like they’re being listened to on any of the issues. And you look back, part of why President Trump won the election in ’16 is because he made people feel valuable. He made them feel like they were being listened to. And for too long, people on both sides of the aisle have felt like politicians simply just don’t care about the issues that are affecting their lives.”
