Rep. Tony Gonzales: We Need To Be Prioritizing People Not Politics Following The Tragedy In Uvalde

Texas Republican Congressman Tony Gonzales joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to explain why we should be focusing all of our attention on the people affected by the heinous mass shooting in his district at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

“I told my team, our number one focus is, I don’t care about the national politics, it’s to take care of the people of our district. They’re hurting right now. Our hearts are torn out of our bodies. We’re just trying to heal. I’ll give you an example. It just happened not too long ago. One of the teachers that was murdered, her husband has a heart attack today and he passes away. Well, guess what? That family has four children. They’re now orphans. People want to talk about all this other BS that’s happening. There’s lives that are ruined and destroyed, and we’ve got to pitch in. My office is going, hey, how do we get childcare to them? What do their families need? And they’re not from the Uvalde. They actually live in Del Rio, about an hour away. She would commute here to go to school. What I’m getting at is that there’s real people that are dealing with real issues. Some people are having to bury their children.”

Rep. Gonzales also shares his thoughts on why there needs to be more resources in his state for people with mental health issues. To hear what else he had to say, listen to the podcast!
