Former NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly: Police Waited Far Too Long To Enter School In Uvlade, Texas

Ray Kelly, former NYPD Commissioner, spoke to Brian Kilmeade about reports that law enforcement waited an extended period of time before entering Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Kelly believes the police waited way too long in his judgement and in a situation like this you have to make a quick tactical decision and go in. Kelly says it is dangerous situation but that is what law enforcement is paid for. Kelly says the lesson from Columbine in 1999 was police waited too long go in. Kelly says the cardinal rule in mass shootings was violated, particularly when children are involved. Kelly also explained his support for police using red flag laws to temporarily take a firearm from someone who may be emotionally unstable or giving indications that they are going to commit violent acts. When asked about raising the age to purchase a firearm to 21 years old, Kelly says it is probably not going to help but it gives the legislatures something to do.
