Daniel Turner: The Problems With Biden Tapping Into The Nation’s Strategic Oil Reserves
Founder and Executive Director of Power The Future Daniel Turner joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to react to President Biden ordering the release a million barrels of oil a day from the nation’s strategic reserve for the next sixth months.
“The reserves are set aside. They are not connected to the grid and they are for emergency purposes so that if we look at like a critically pared down America in terms of fossil fuel consumption, meaning huge natural disaster, huge manmade disaster like God forbid war, to have the very basic infrastructure of sending supplies, troops, medical personnel and food around the country. We’re talking about four million barrels of oil a day. So we said, alright, well let’s have enough oil set aside so that we can keep the country afloat for a couple of weeks to get back on our footing, understanding that if a hurricane destroyed our infrastructure or a bomb went off or something tragic like that. But if we get rid of that reserve, well, what happens in the black swan scenario? What happens if we need it again? And let me just sum up by saying this. The reserves are not to be used as a hedge for high prices, but that was not their purpose that they are used to protect America in the case of a terrible situation. And Biden’s using them for economic purposes and political purposes, quite frankly.”
