Charles McBee: How Comedians Like Dave Chappelle Have Managed To Survive Cancel Culture
Head writer for “Tha God’s Honest Truth” on Comedy Central Charles McBee joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to share his thoughts on the current state of comedy, and how cancel culture has impacted the industry.
“There are certain people who are un-cancelable and Dave Chappelle is one of those people. So if you have a regular gig in a corporate entity that is probably run by liberals or whatnot, I would not try and go down the Dave Chappelle trail. Chappelle doesn’t have his own quote unquote TV show on NBC. He’s not in movies per say, but what he has is a following, and he does his own tours, and he knows that he’s going to put out a special and Netflix is going to make a lot of money, so they’re going to stand by him. If Chappelle didn’t put up the numbers, Netflix would be like, who Chappelle, who? So, yeah, you got to be independent and you’ve got to go your own route.”
Plus. Co-Host of “The Five” and head of research for Bustle Digital Jessica Tarlov makes her long-awaited return to the show, and tells Jimmy why she does not think the Hunter Biden laptop story is as big of a deal as some people are making it out to be. She also gives him her take on Kyrie Irving still not being allowed to play in home games for the Brooklyn Nets, even though he can enter the Barclays Center as a fan.
