FOX News Rundown EXTRA: The Olympics Are Underway. So, Is China’s Spying.
The Beijing Olympics are underway. And if competing on the world stage wasn’t stressful enough for our American athletes, the threat of a cyber-attack is also looming over their heads during these Winter games.
Helping to fuel those worries, China has required competitors to download the ‘My 2022’ app to monitor their health during their trip. And earlier this week, FBI Director Christopher Wray said that China presents a larger security threat to the U.S. than any other country.
Mike Baker, a former CIA covert operations officer, and CEO of Portman Square Group, joined Dave Anthony this week to talk about the cyber threat posed by China and the many precautions visitors must now take.
Baker explained how he has long warned companies and travelers when traveling to China and why the nation is so interested in monitoring the online activity of Americans.
Due to time limitations, we could not include all of the interview in our original segment. On the FOX News Rundown Extra, you will hear our entire conversation with Mike Baker and hear more of his analysis of China’s attempts to steal our data and whether or not American athletes should have boycotted the games.
