President Biden was in Scranton, Pennsylvania Wednesday promoting his infrastructure bill and Build Back Better plan, touting the benefits it will bring to working class Americans. This as Democrat lawmakers in Washington DC continue to work out a deal to pass both bills after weeks of negotiating and moving off the original price tag of the $3.5-trillion spending bill. On Wednesday, October 20th the gunman responsible for the 2018 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida pleaded guilty to 17 counts of murder and another 17 counts of attempted murder. The prosecutors are seeking the death penalty but for now, the shooter must await a jury’s decision on sentencing.
