Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY): Hochul Was “Silent And Hiding” In The Face Of Cuomo’s Scandals

On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY), who had announced he was running for Governor of New York even before Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s resignation, explained why having Gov. Couomo leave office may be a good thing, it still leaves the state in the hands of his “silent” successor, Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul.

“She was silent. She was hiding, and she was his lieutenant. And she should have shown strength and leadership in speaking up against it, realizing that the issue here isn’t just one serious scandal that we’ve been talking the most about over the course of the last week. But where was her leadership with the deadly nursing home order and cover up? Where’s the leadership when an over-five million dollar self-congratulatory book deal gets caught and the taxpayer-funded staff of their administration is helping to write the book? Where was her leadership when you had that administration working to provide preferential COVID testing for family and friends at private residence done by State Health Department officials moving the samples to the front of the line? So not only do I not recall any statements at all coming from her, what all of us are realizing and reminding each other of is that she really didn’t say anything the entire time. And while it is good news that Andrew Cuomo is resigning, the bad news is his lieutenant’s taking over. And for that New Yorker hitting their breaking point and wanting to flee yesterday morning, they’re not waking up this morning having any relief from that breaking point related to cost of living, law enforcement, public safety, kids’ education, freedoms, the issues are still the same.”
